Sources & method
- Each figure is copied by hand from the airline's own official baggage or help page. The page is linked next to the figure, along with the date we checked it (currently 2026-10-25 to 2026-10-26; each airline page shows its own date).
- We don't use third-party sites as sources. If the airline doesn't publish a figure, or its page can't be fetched, the field is marked unverified and left blank.
- Values marked "(converted)" are our own unit conversions. The airline published only the other unit.
- The fit checker compares dimensions only, in any orientation, plus a total-linear limit where one is published. It can't account for weight, your fare, regional aircraft or how strict the gate agent is.
- Coverage: budget and full-service airlines. Budget airlines are marked "Budget" because their fares are low and bags cost extra, so getting the size right saves the most money there. JetBlue is marked "Hybrid" (our classification). The category labels are ours, not the airlines'.
- Some airline sites only render in a browser. Where noted on the airline page, we read the official page with a headless browser. The source is still the airline's own page.
Airlines we tried but could not verify
We left these out rather than guess:
- Sun Country Airlines: suncountry.com/bags is behind a bot wall (Incapsula), so WebFetch, curl and a headless browser all got a block page. The only official text we could read was a July 2023 blog post, which is too old to rely on.
- Volotea: volotea.com baggage and legal pages are behind a bot wall (Incapsula), so nothing could be read.
- Scoot: flyscoot.com returned Access Denied (Akamai) to every fetch method.
- Cebu Pacific: Official baggage and help pages would not render, and the only sources describing its September 2026 hand-carry change were news and LinkedIn, which are not official airline pages.
- Cathay Pacific: Its current official baggage pages don't state carry-on dimensions (only "one carry-on + one small item"); the figures sit behind an interactive calculator, and the only page with sizes we found was a 2013 archived copy, too old to rely on.
- Spirit Airlines: Official pages returned server errors, and news reports say it stopped flying in May 2026.
